I do various types of art, mostly traditional art and fiber arts

Please do not use my art to train AI

My degree is in anthrozoology (human-animal studies), art is just a hobby for me

It’s beautiful! I love the thick, almost sculptural painting technique on the flowers! Is it an oil painting?

I’ve tried digital art before but I really prefer the feeling of working with traditional media. There are so many cool things that can be done with digital art, but I love the tactile experience of working with different physical art media

I don’t know if this is a thing in other cultures, but here in the US they tell kids that if you blow the dandelion seeds off of the stalk, you can make a wish

Anyway, the thick yarn is spun from a blend from YarnTravel, which I think contains merino, silk, and some sort of sparkly material. The silk I used is cultivated silk from Ewephoric Fiber. I purchased the fiber at a fiber arts festival earlier this year.

Going forward, I plan to go with a more consistent fat singles with the blue and I may try spinning more silk singles or I may ply it with commercial silk thread instead. The silk thread I spun kept clinging to itself and breaking when I tried to untangle it (it was my first time spinning with silk)

Cute! I love the acorn cap hat on the snowman! Are the KOKEDAMACHANs friends with the sparrows?

I hope you have a good morning and a good weekend! In Florida, United States, it is 6:36 PM on Thursday. It is technically still winter, but it’s already getting hot outside. It’s supposed to be over 80 F (26.7 C) every day for the next week 😓

I’d like to add that I’m not affiliated with Line of Action in any way, I’m just sharing because it’s a really good resource and has helped with my art a lot :)

A valuable resource for references is Line of Action, @lineofaction.bsky.social on Bluesky. Their website has lots of references available for free, and it’s generally what I use for warmup sketches and anatomy practice. Just be aware that there are nude models if you’re not comfortable with that

I just need to figure out how I want to fasten it, and I also need to re-do some of the sewing because I’m not too good at sewing and the stitching is already coming undone
