A new paper alert! Minal Wable and I reviewed the current state of chemo-mechanical deformations in Na-ion battery electrodes, and briefly compared them with Li-ion battery ones.

Many congrats to Bret and Hunter for publishing study about probing electrochemical strains in aqueous Zn battery cathode during cycling. This is the first study from our group on aqueous battery cathodes and it is highlighted as "ACS Editor Choice".

Our group has received an NSF-DEVCOM INTERN Supplementary award. Bret Marckx will spend about 5 months at the Battery Science Branch in DEVCOM Army in 2025. This is a unique opportunity for Bret to gain experience at the Army Research Lab and will be beneficial for his career growth

It was a long and exciting day in our laboratory! We installed the ALPHA-II FT-IR and will move it inside the glove box after new year! We also installed QCM-D QSense Explorer instrument with electrochemical module, and even we performed first electrodeposition of MnO2 electrode on it today!

Very excited about this new grant from DOE to work on the chemo-mechanics of electrochemical materials for environmental remediation with Prof. Xiaowei Teng at WPI! We will be looking for a prospective Ph.D. student to join our group in Fall 2025. Please RT!
