You'd select the HQPlayer on your Studio as the zone in Roon, and then setup NAA on your Mac Mini, and point HQPlayer to that NAA which needs to be configured to output USB to your DAC. The Outputs setting in HQPlayer should say NetworkAudioAdapter and the Device should show the DAC via USB.

I've got HQPlayer working with Roon. It's amazing, although the setup wasn't intuitive. I run HQPlayer Desktop 5 on a headless Mac Mini M4 that also runs the Roon client/server. I use a PI2AES 2.0 HAT with a Raspberry Pi 4 running RoPieee connected via LAN (enabling NAA) then out to a DAC via USB.
