While neutrality featured, I’m not sure it’s the reason she was elected. Irish people do not pay attention to defence investment. This election was a disaster for the Govt parties because they ran terrible candidates. Her views on neutrality are in line with MDH. We run the risk of over analysing it

The CC isn’t a Government position. It’s a parliamentary role and has nothing to do with Government policy, foreign affairs or domestic affairs. Their role is to ensure the smooth functioning of the Parliament.
