Silence in the face of oppression, prejudice and abuse IS complictity. Neutrality benefits the oppressor, not the oppressed. Neutrality also benefits YOU. These are facts. A fact is suddenly no longer a fact simply because of who said it.

It's not about the person, it's about the weight these words carry for present and future events. This quote does not matter any less simply from whom these words came from. If people took this quote to heart, it may actually save someone's life one day.

And peace certainly has never been given freely. Ask yourself, "By staying silent, will anything possibly get worse? By staying silent, will anything possibly get better?". If the answer is yes to the first question, then you need to take a side.

Except peace has never led to any course of action. Peaceful protests don't help or change anything. If peaceful protests worked, the world wouldn't be the way that it is now. You have to fight for peace. It's not going to appear on its own. It won't fall from the sky.

People are terrified, and they should be. Terrible things are going to happen. Always assume that people have the power to do what they want. Especially if they're rich. Be prepared and aware of the worst-case scenarios.

It's not a situational idea. It's about humanity, morality, decency and respect. This planet and all its inhabitants, flora, fauna and humans alike, cannot afford neutrality anymore. It's about doing what's right. Neutrality is one of the things that got us to this state.

I'd also like to add that just being aware of something atrocious is enough sometimes. Some of us may not be able to do/add anything of value to aid a cause, but awareness is just as important.

Not enough people understand this. There is no fuzzy grey area of morality. You are either for it or against it. If you don't know enough about it, EDUCATE YOURSELF.
