I love 2012 Dredd too but not all of the og Dredd comics are as dark as Apocalypse War or Necropolis.
What I WOULD be suprised by is Waititi adapting the Democracy arc. The first story is about the judges sabotaging a peaceful, pro-democracy march and silly tech aside it is a pretty bleak one.

For instance, I know Howard sometimes describes "plate armour" using terms like "gorgets, sollerets, pauldrons, jambes, cuisses" and "sallet's", but I read them as being generic descriptions. These terms are even used to describe individual armour pieces irrespective of time and place
