Sliding Seat (Obese Man Rowing)
@obesemanrowing.bsky.social
AKA Peter Metalli

Father of a (former) red box winner.

Lardarse who once rowed 9.6 million metres on an erg "to" the Tokyo Olympics!

40 years of racing, organising, coaching, writing 🏊 🚴 🏃 🚣

I used to swim, bike run and row; now, I "cheese".
There’s the old joke about picking up a young attractive woman in a car who claims she’s a witch but the driver does not believe her.

So she whispers a few magic words in his ear and he turns into a lay-by.

One of the (dis) advantages of only have one eye/2d vision is that I thought at first that was another roundabout! 😉

Costa was ruined for (truly revealed to) me when their staff cannot pronounce “latte” correctly. Not only saying it wrong but also correcting me when I said it right!

If you cannot even pronounce a drink properly then how the hell can you be expected to make it properly?

As for panino/panini…🤬

Went to Stockholm with 400 quid’s worth of Krona a couple of years’ ago. After a week still had £380’s worth.

On last day HAD 😉😱 to go into a Co op and spend it on cheese just to use it up!

So either Sweden is the cheapest country in Europe (spoiler; it’s not) or it’s pretty much cashless.

Well, normally these careless drivers get away with “ the sun was in my eyes” so albeit the rider had to battle for it, a win is a win.

TBF though Google only “ just” existed. Most of us were still Yahooing (yes I know, eventually powered by Google) or AOLing.

Not many could have predicted how Google would take off to the extent it did and destroy so much of the year 2000 world.

Yellow Pages anyone?

Certainly do. Remember watching him on David Coleman’s Wednesday night show.

In those days we were just impressed that GBR athlete was actually running an event as there were so few at international level. Foster, Bedford and um…

…that was about it until the Coe & Ovett show a few years’ later!

Apologies 2023 was the last named variant. (2021 was the last GREEK-named variant)😔

Sorry to hear that.

COVID never went away; governments (and therefore the msm) just stopped talking about it. New variants are of particular concern ATM; Nimbus and Stratus. So concerning to scientists that these are the first new variants to get a nickname since 2021.

Get well soon and stay safe.
