Well it’s the present of all levels of education

What’s wrong with the question?

I’m a part of the universe and I see much difference

So you think squishing a human is not much worse than squishing an ant?
November 25, 2024 at 4:58 AM
I’d like to think me and my fellow humans are more than just bugs

What consolation does this offer? If the universe were smaller or bigger would it make someone’s suffering more or less?

What are “lived experiences” but congelations of sensory data? If you want to argue for the uniqueness of the human spirit make an appeal to the non-sensory forms of beauty, truth, and goodness that machines lack.

Plato criticized poetry and prose for its mimetic aspects, so in a way yes.

*Me seeing a starving child* I have no compulsion to form an opinion on this.

So do regular artists steal when they’re trained on the art of others? Most of the qualms about AI art seem like the protestations of rent-seekers…

Do people still like fates? I feel like when it came out it was a little dissapointing and Three Houses is just so much better…

I guess sleeping would be laying down for those people.

Its even worse in antiquity. Pretty sure the assumption then was you’d marry a cousin or an uncle.

Pirating is free as well

Even if all housing were public a glut of people seeking housing would surely make it more difficult to find housing, no?

Stalin, a man with famously lax migration policies.

For those people I guess laying down would be the equivalent of sitting on the couch.

I actually mostly relied on youtube videos for high school maths. It didn’t work as well for me when I took college math that required actual understanding of what you were studying.

Sitting on the couch all fay is easier (and perhaps more pleasurable) than working out—doesn’t mean sitting on the couch is better than working out.

I’d put listening to audiobooks in the same category as watching TV. It can be enjoyable and educational, but they don’t give the same benfits that reading your way through a tough text does. At least as I see it we don’t teach children to watch TV but we do teach them to read, and for good reason.

Whatever you mean by “valid” listening to books lends itself to being less rigorous than reading. When listening its very easy to not absorb the information being said—one can listen to a book but not pay attention. One can skim a book but the nature of the format means you have to be more attentive
