I saw the Romance of Alexander manuscript today in the brilliant Bodleian Treasures exhibition - open on a different page (I didn’t notice any fish) but just stunning.

The peace of wild things: semi(?) wild, very friendly horses enjoying the sunshine in their meadow. The woolly foal was especially sweet!

Unexpected discovery on this morning’s run: a dog cemetery 🐕 (I presume). Naturally I stopped only through curiosity, in no way related to unfitness caused by seasonal overindulgence and lethargy.

Found in a 1942 edition of The Republic of Plato - this card belonged to Air Staff Officer Victor Callaghan, on special duties to HMS Trumpeter. Wondering if I’m the first person to open it since he left it there.
