Many jobs are stressful but emotionally draining I question that someone dying on your shift must affect you to your core, it would for myself.
Its not just DRs, same goes for nurse practitioners and other health care providers too

Working as a doctor must be very stressful and emotionally draining at times and then to top that with being constantly tired from an antisocial shift pattern has got to be really hard both physically and mentally, these flippant comments really piss me off

Shift work is also 24/7 to take leave you need cover which is difficult to find on weekends and other antisocial shifts because people need lives too, so you miss out on a lot of family and life stuff.
With staff shortages it makes it even harder, so they should be fairly compensated ?

Doctors contractual hours are 40pw the average is 36.5pw overtime is paid for extra hours you actually work which is needed due to shortages
Shiftwork is hard on your body/health and you tend to miss out on a lot

Inheritance I would rather people spend every penny enjoying life when they can. There is so much to unpack for a reply, be it wealth transfer offshore, no risk because we pay for complex health needs hospital/medication etc, most of the country being economically illiterate.
