Rantylars on the other (shudder) place. Love clean energy, cars (especially electric), nature, cats and space.
@engineerlondon.bsky.social - saw this and thought of you... Since I first saw your feed I have become an engineer in corporate and now know exactly what you, and this book, mean 🤣

Just came back to the app to check on things around #heathrow and the grid side of it. Amazed to see only a few posts down in the search for "heathrow grid" the dis and misinformation starts - Euro Maidan, random posters in various languages saying things that are totally untrue or unestablished atm

Watching Points West report about the coming Council cuts. Everything that is nice for young people - libraries, museums, school road safety patrols - on the chopping block. Meanwhile the health and social care budget still rises and rises. It's plainly unsustainable and the government must cut it.

Not even kidding, all the government needs to do is hire some low support autistics, train them/immerse them in their briefs and then give them executive power and tell them to improve efficiency. Oh the things we could do!
On the “war on waste” (reported in the Sunday Telegraph today) Why is expertise on public sector effectiveness is deemed only to come from the private sector? Why not frontline workers living the challenges daily? Service user/community groups who fall between the silos? @telegraphnews.bsky.social

Am I a silly goose or is "DEI" incredibly complicated and politically charged for no apparent reason? I'll be a manager one day and I will hire the best candidate every time. It's that simple. Who will fit my team and the role they will perform? Nothing else matters to me or my stakeholders.

Just saw a photo of #Fauci and realised... He's a poor sod who is a good example of what happens if you put your head above the parapet to do the right thing. You can get crucified for it.

Tw pet loss. Lost a cat today suddenly. She was a relatively young senior. She was so lovely and so loved. There was just no warning - no emotional preparation. Sometimes having pets and the way they go, is like the sudden death of a human. It's a challenge of owning cats. 🥺😿

Marvin Rees offered a peerage. Losing faith in Starmer really, really fast. Does he realise that Rees and his sense of superiority are the reason Labour lost Bristol? Cronyism, rewarding failure, these are becoming more Labour traits than Tory. The future feels bleak.

Yay 8p... Thanks for something @octopus.energy but I hope you agree this isn't very sustainable! I literally left the house for that hour!

Fair play, we saved over 54% as a region so people are still doing the right thing, but rewards are not worth it.

@garethdennis.bsky.social have you seen this? It seems more and more parts of the transport industry in the UK or UK adjacent are normalising retaliation against whistleblowers and covering up serious safety issues.

Post on the Other Place got retweeted by a Reformer with a smarmy and frankly awful comment about Angela Rayner's accent, and I got called delusional and various other names. Lovely people, I hope their favourite men get to run the country one day. 😒

Found this buried on page 6 of today's times. If there had been a Tory government this would have been a front page banner headline.

Can we start a petition against #Christmas lights which are by default cycling through their settings? I do *not* need my tree going into seizure-inducement mode every 2 minutes, please and thank you.

Hot take:

If your car offers you the ability to use your phone as a key, yeet that feature right into the sun and ignore it because phones are infinitely dumber than keys and you need a key ring for your house anyway you doinks.

And if you're using your phone as a house key... don't.
