I predict it will ultimately fizzle out like a wet firework. 1. There is still the Senate, where Trump might have a stronger base; 2. Even if it passes the Senate, Trump will veto; 3. There's also the Pocket Veto (adjourn congress); 4. Justice will refuse because it's now an active investigation.

It still needs to get through the Senate, and then the President will likely veto it, unless they get a veto-proof majority.

Barely legal is the wrong term for this. "Barely legal" means they've just turned 18. I was going to call this "jailbait", but that term is usually reserved for minors who will reach the age of consent soon. It doesn't apply to children who are 15 years old.

That just creates a lot more complexity because you now have 2 queues that need to cross each other. And usually, gas stations are designed around visitors following the flow of traffic for the road the gas station lies on. This creates a lot of conflict on the road for very little gain.

Also, you DO actually want a good distribution of gas tank caps on both sides. Gas pumps are designed such that a car can refuel on either side, but if all cars suddenly have their gas tank cap on the same side lines at gas stations would be roughly twice as long because half the pumps are unusable.

There's actually a chance this might happen in some of them. Generally speaking, gerrymandering works best if you use the tiniest "safe" margins for most of your districts. GOP relied on splits remaining the same.. But with shifts this big, a "safe" margin might actually not be safe after all...

Fun fact: the GOP based their Texas redistricting on Trump's 2024 performance. Trump had record high turnout among Latinos, and they took that into account to make multiple Latino-heavy districts. Guess who Trump targets heavily for his deportations? And guess who swapped to Democrats en masse?

I am in favor of age limits (as in you can start a new term as long as you're younger than 65), but I don't particularly like the concept of term limits. Term limits make it harder for a party to have a group of experienced politicians to serve as mentors for the younger crowd.
