It also doesn't help things when you look at the "remastered" trailer and the visuals are still the same from 2016 -- but the incentive is QoL features that clearly should've been patched in and not baked into a potential cash grab

The best example of a proper treatment is The Legends of Heroes: Trails in the sky which got a proper treatment with "Trails in the Sky 1st chapter"

The older tales of games that haven't gotten a proper treatment. Absolutely, go for those - and just touch up the current ones with patch fixes, etc.

Because now you are putting this game in the same situation as The Last of Us Part 2, and Horizon Zero Dawn where both games are still brand new
