He noted that after the cost-cutting measures in different departments such as DPWH, DA, DepEd, DOH, and DOTr the budgets will be redirected to other programs that uplift families, support livelihoods, and strengthen communities.

"So, alongside our efforts to strengthen the Philippines’ regional foothold and attract investments, we continue to cleanse our bureaucracy of corruption, because only a transparent government can build a fair economy."

"I am fully confident that our participation in the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting (AELM) will produce concrete, meaningful outcomes that enhance cooperation, drive connectivity, and promote inclusive prosperity," the president proudly stated.

The President is expected to hold bilateral meetings with other leaders to explore new trade and investment opportunities, especially in energy, agriculture, and innovation.

He adds that the country will advocate for policies that benefit micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), advance green transition initiatives, and empower the Filipino workforce to thrive in a tech-driven economy.

On APEC agenda: Building a Sustainable Tomorrow: Connect. Innovate. Prosper—which according to him is aligned to the Philippines' national development agenda.

He emphasizes that the APEC Region accounts for nearly 46% of global trade in goods and commercial services, and 61% of the global GDP.

The purpose for his departure is to attend the 32nd Economic Leaders' Meeting in Gyeongju, Republic of Korea—and other related activities upon the invitation of President Lee Jae Myung.
