yeah, very true! i think if we can slim down smart glasses to the point that they’re almost just like normal glasses (and i do think that will happen), then the first point won’t matter too much. second point though, yeah no idea, good point lol. i guess another similar issue too would be the camera

the wristband gesture stuff we’re seeing now is honestly pretty neat but more work needs to be done. eye tracking may help a bit, but still gotta think about things like text input. some kind of neural magic would prolly need to happen for it to surpass phones. i think we’ll get there… one day lol

like, in its current state, it’s very much not the most convenient but wow is it ever looking more possible. miniaturize the chips a bit more, make the displays better (both of which will prolly happen quickly), and the last big hurdle is to come up with some kind of genius way to interact with it

i tend to think the same, but can’t help but think at the same time that there will probably be *one* day where glasses (and maybeee headsets too) will become the most convenient. like, won’t even need to use your hands. you’ll always be wearing it and probably think your thoughts into existence

you have no idea how much I’ve genuinely grown to hate smushed arrow keys. my new work laptop has them but not only that, it has pg up/down in the empty gaps. the amount of times I have accidentally pressed pg up/down when trying to press left or right is infuriating and causes so much chaos 😭

ive mentioned it before but holmat! easily my favorite con (even compared to momo), and very well run! metrocon in tampa is also great!

my phone is the oldest oled i own (3.5yr) and has also seen worse conditions over its lifetime (much brighter than my monitor on average and more static content like the home and status bar) and while it does have burn in, it’s *only* ever noticeable at very low brightness and on grayish backgrounds

i do think newer oled tech is def better, prolly between the pixels themselves, the cooling solutions most displays have, and firmware the displays run. i don’t think burn in is too much of a problem anymore thankfully

fwiw, I’ve been using an oled tv for the past 2 years (lg c2) and have noticed 0 burn in at all. i usually run it between 65-85% brightness depending on my mood and I did baby it a bit by hiding taskbars and using video wallpapers, but even then I tend to use the same apps a lot and noticed nothing

congrats!!!!!!!!!!!! it was a bit hard for me to find time for personal projects too when i had my internship, but i was still able to find some :) doing things like meal prep also helps a lot too since I don’t have to cook every night lolol

honestly i might have to try this. i HATE being rudely awakened by ppl and my phone, i feel like it makes such a negative impact on my morning. i can’t believe i didn’t know of this earlier lol
