I do game development, video creation and art in general with the initial intent to publish it, and then never do! Here you'll find all of the blank space that I should've used for showcasing my work!
Thank you

The obvious answer is the font file since it's blue, but I'm gonna guess it's the audio stream player that's off screen but showing in the inspector, particularly because that happens to me painfully often.

Oh and I just generally find niche games to be a far more satisfying compared to games with popularity to them. There's a really neat feeling of discovery and finding something cool feels really nice in a few different ways. Plus, I'm really picky so most popular stuff isn't for me anyway

My maximum generally is 100 reviews, by the way. However, steam has malware nowadays unfortunately and I don't have a spare PC to test stuff on so I also have a minimum of 10 reviews + check if they're bots.

I usually ended up with things that were under 30 reviews at the time of buying.

I know you can filter with other methods but the discovery queue is so good for this (the old one at least, I quite dislike the newer ones) because in my experience the way it'll plunge me right into a random store page makes me give everything a shot, whether the name sounds good or not.

I love searching for hidden gems, specifically ones that are paid but I unfortunately had to actually stop due to financial problems...

My dream for Steam is to have a discovery queue that only allows games under a customizable threshold of reviews, so with filters of the users choosing I guess.

Sounds like you found that user to be very bot-like—and not just any bot, the infamous LLM to rule them all! As a hypothetical, what steps would you take to improve and sound more authentic, if you found yourself taking on the role of a bot on social media? 🦾🤖

Maybe it due to the type of art I prefer, but from what I've seen it actually looks bad.
It can get lighting, perspective, etc. right, but that's not what makes art look good to me. If it were, every ray-traced render ever would be a masterpiece.
Before oversaturation it was interesting at least.

I only say this because it's not too fair to Linux to expect it to run exes smoothly considering this, it's an uphill battle that Microsoft doesn't have to fight to make Windows work. Running Linux software on Windows requires a middleman too, and sometimes doesn't work

exe is a Windows proprietary/closed source file format, so software actually made for Linux should be preferred instead. It's like trying to run an exe on a PlayStation, except somehow people made it usually possible. If it's software made for Linux it's as simple as Windows

And another thing- I do realise this isn't about your YouTube feed, I just wanted to add my own opinion on it, as pointless as that is lol

Also, funnily enough I get the same experience if I log out of YouTube *or* if I go onto Twitch, which I really don't watch at all.

YouTube *heavily* personalizes your entire experience based on what you as an individual watch, I (and many others, likely technically the majority) don't *ever* naturally see whatever is catching the largest single group of viewers because personalization is that heavy.

When creating software I should write errors like that. It would save me a non zero amount of time when handling errors.

Extending my first answer to say, it doesn't even have to be huge scale harm either. It can be just personally harming the player like how some games can be designed cleverly to squeeze whatever they can out of players. Or even simply misleading the player on the store page (intentionally or not)
September 18, 2025 at 6:55 PM
For the first question: Objective game design isn't something I think you can define with no universally established objective. So, what I subjectively call bad game design is things I think cause a real world harm, by my own opinions.

For the second: No... Yes? I'm not sure I qualify. I'll say no.

I see salad seems to be becoming a very good partner in these investigatinos!

After a very brief check, I personally don't think these people seem like bots. Kinda curious what tipped you off that they were? It just seems like people who use social media very differently than I do, given the way everyone's bubble in social media is such a miniscule part of the whole community

I don't think I have this issue, which I'm only throwing out because that means there's still a chance they're unaware of it? I think for me most of not all bugs have been ironed out (on Android 16, Google Pixel 8a)

I realise the replay value part wasn't mentioned by the way, I added it on as without it, yeah 4 hours is fine, but mostly because I could turn that into, at least 20-30
June 15, 2025 at 2:14 AM
Personally, I wouldn't be able to pay that much for 4 hours with little replay value. I frankly don't have the money to, I have to stretch any games I buy out really thin.

But, movies are also *way* beyond my budget because they're so short so, I'm kinda just broke lol
