And when I delivered them?
I got told the stitching was beautiful, & they couldn't believe that those were the first 6 that I had ever done.
They're going to make someone really happy this year, & warm.

I picked up mum's car, & delivered them to the bookstore yesterday afternoon.
Mum finished 24.
I managed 6.
It was hard... I couldn't think...I couldn't concentrate... My life was in a crisis outside of my control...
But I did it.

The 6th was only half done... & my brain just stopped.
I wasn't tired.... But I also was. I walked away... shut down... napped... & a mere 3 hours later... dragged my ass out of bed again...
After speedrunning a shower, packing my bag, & grabbing it all -c

Did she know what was happening? What I'd learned? Could she still see? Think? What did she think of it?
I felt sad that I couldn't ask her... That I couldn't show her that I'd been crocheting... & with 1 night to go... The deadline being in the morning... -c

I started the 6th... & then saw the urn with my grandma's ashes, & remembered her teaching me this when I was younger... & thought about how I'd reach out to her during times like this...
& I wondered... would she be proud? Was she watching? Did she know? -c

So I started a 4th... By this point, I had been given the ones mum had finished... & in my head, I figured, given everything, 6 wouldn't be bad.
The deadline crept closer. We decided a date for me to drop them off... & I started to worry... I finished the 4th...the 5th... -c

Despite that... I finished a 2nd... I posted some pics... Mum texted me a hook change suggestion... So I started a 3rd... & finished it... But now I had 3 regular size tuques... But there's a larger size to make too... So I wanted to round it out with 3 larger ones... -c

I was happy that I managed the 1. I did it. And it didn't look half bad...
Mum had completed 12... I had 1. I slowly started working on another... &.. it's kind of hard to concentrate on counting, etc, while your brain is off elsewhere trying to make contingency plans... -c

I was worried... & a little heartbroken... thinking that I'd only get 1 done. That that's all I would manage... Because no way was I leaving it to be unfinished... So I worked on it... bit by bit... My first ever time doing this pattern... I finished the 1... -c

A mess that unfortunately massively affects things in my life.
I'll live... 1 way or another... I always do. So, I'll be ok...eventually. It just may be difficult until then.
But when this all happened... I'd only started 1. 1 tuque... That was it. & it was only 1/2 done... -c

At the beginning, I figured, I have 2 months-ish, so I can try to do maybe half as many as mum...

This was a good goal... But then life happened... & everything got super busy & hectic, & I had to suddenly drop everything to do damage control for someone else's mess... -c

Which, fair, ok, cause it's a good cause, & we're starting a shop together, & new pattern, so why not? Right?
Well, that was at the start of Sept... She only had a little bit of time to work on them because she had to pack, & move at the then of Sept. -c
