Method: 📖
Review: This was 6/5 for me, easily. Historical fantasy meets dark academia meets anti-imperialism and colonial resistance. Incredible story, incredible writing. I can’t wait to read everything else by R. F. Kuang 👏🏻♥️

I struggled to get into Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston at first. I usually struggle to read anything outside of fantasy, and I’m really trying to challenge that. This was lyrically, beautifully written, and I really appreciated it by the end! 💙
