Like everyone else, I’m in awe of Faizan Zaki’s big win at the National Spelling Bee—especially after coming so close last year (huge congrats, Faizan!).

I couldn’t help getting distracted by the trophy. It was designed by Rookwood Pottery in Cincinnati back in 2019. What a great looking trophy!

5 yrs. ago I learned to spin yarn. Over the years I've spun more than knitted, so my goal for 2025 is to use more yarn.

Well, it's not 2025 yet, but I’m spinning more thanks to this beautiful drop spindle and yarn bowl my brother gave me for Christmas!

Two years ago was our first Grinchmas. It seemed appropriate since I had to start chemo 10 days before Christmas. Last holiday season I was still recovering and not in much of a festive mood - hench Grinchmas 2.0. No Grinchmas this year. I am thankful for my health this holiday season.

Ten years ago, after recovering from major abdominal surgery following a seven months of illness, I decided to take an Intro to Wheel Throwing class at my local community arts center. It was my first exposure to using clay as a media.
