I've been active in the free school movement, cooperatives, and intentional communities since early 1970s. Active in scouting, I tried to interest my peers in Black folk arts, crafts, music. The only people I found to share with were my grandparents' generation, and now they're all gone.

Does this picture of me, decades before transition in the 1970s, suggest I believed gender stereotypes? No, but people I trusted retcon'd my past to fit an anti-trans narrative.
