It's grim seeing "Patriots of Britain" - who mostly seem to be #UKIP and #EDL - out making Nazi salutes, co-opting children's suffering, and generally spreading hate.
But our counter-protest was much bigger, and frankly much more *joyful*. Whose streets? Our streets!

A far-right demonstration gathered in Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester. They have England flags, Free Tommy Robinson and UKIP signs. A counter-protest against the far right, with trans and Palestinian flags, and banners with "Refugees welcome", "¡No pasaran!", "Black Lives Matter", and "Migrants make the NHS"

Photos from #solidarityforever at @phm.org.uk where Mike Jackson and Jonathan Blake told us their story as part of the original LGSM- the story made famous in the film Pride. It was great to hear their joys, troubles, and occasional naughtiness, and to have their perspective on #LGBT activism today.

#Facebook is a bit awful these days, isn't it? I'm going to be on #Mastodon and #Bluesky a bit more these days, maybe a bit more active and hopefully more engaged with things that matter and that make me smile.
