Awful decisions by Labour govt so far (not a comprehensive list): not nationalising water. imposing harsh cuts on the chronically ill and disabled. refusal to enact wealth taxes and capital gains tax or corporation tax increases. keeping the 2 child benefit cap. increasing privatisation in the NHS. Self-imposing fiscal rules that necessitate austerity. appointing privateer figures to key roles in the NHS - Milburn, Corrigan, Cavendish. removing winter fuel allowance from thousands of pensioners. Voting to block UN plans to tackle global tax avoidance. replacing chair of the CMA with an Amazon bigwig. Filming and broadcasting live deportations. putting protesters in jail / draconian clampdowns on protesters. refusing to cap bankers bonuses. putting out Reform style adverts using their rhetoric and mimicking their branding. Not calling a genocide a genocide (in Gaza); not stopping all arms sales to Israel; flying spy missions for Israel from Cyprus; not committing to abide by ICJ arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant. betraying the WASPI women. Accepting expensive gifts and hospitality from Lord Alli and others with vested interests. Accepting numerous donations from large corporations including private health firms and private health investors.

Tory austerity caused 330,000 deaths. Labour austerity may have a worse impact because all our public services are more depleted now and the cost of living is far higher than 2012-19.
And don't tell us it's not austerity - we aren't stupid.

This is from 2015, but gives an idea of where the overall benefits spend goes. State pension is close to half. Then there's child benefit/tax credits, disability benefits, housing benefit, unemployment and others.
It's so frustrating that we have to keep defending these basic rights every few years.

To give a very brief summary: the government is proposing ‘incentivising’ work for disabled people by increasing payments for the people in the ‘looking for work’ group, and DECREASING payments to the people in the group THEIR OWN SYSTEM has deemed ‘not fit for work’. Getting put in that group is extremely difficult, and many tens of thousands of people who should be in it are not because of the cruelty and arbitrary decision-making at the DWP. The government wants them to decide to move to the working group because it’s the only way they’ll get enough money to survive, but it will increase the burden on the people who can least afford it immensely. The Green Paper also wants to stop increasing PIP in line with inflation, just at the point where energy and food bills are skyrocketing.
