I have since moved to NYC, where I currently serve as the North Brooklyn Branch Representative to the Electoral Working Group. The Zohran for Mayor campaign has reinvigorated my belief that a better world is possible, and the horizons are so much broader than they may seem.

Thousands of doors knocked, strong ties with labor built, hundreds of tenants organized, all housed within DSA priority campaigns. Metro DC DSA now stands as the strongest force against the democratic establishment in the District of Columbia.

I served 3 terms on the Metro DC Steering Committee, 1 of which I served as chair of the chapter. I am immensely proud of the work we accomplished. We democratically passed strong priority campaigns and executed them effectively.

This is exactly why DSA must lead. We know that socialism beats fascism. We know that an organized working class is the only defense against the flailing reactionary capitalist class. I joined this org to fight for someone I don't know. That is the spirit I will bring to the NPC.

As Naomi Klein put it: “Centrism reliably delivers the counter-revolution without the revolution. So why not fight for what's actually needed?” This is our task: to make the status quo untenable for political elites who fear working people coming together to demand a better world

5 years later, we are staring down the same threats we faced in 2020: A Trump administration hellbent on taking aim at the most vulnerable members of our society. At this moment, we need DSA to be the singular home for socialist organizers who want to find power in their lives.

I had gone from being a Bernie staffer marshaling hundreds of volunteers across 6 states to totally aimless and adrift in a matter of days. I joined DSA because I saw it as the singular home for a socialist organizer who wanted to find power in organization.

Friends and Comrades, I am excited to share that I have submitted an application to fill the vacant spot on the NPC! Joining DSA remains one of the best decisions I’ve ever made; I’m putting my name in because I hope to give back to the organization that has given me so much
