Reasons to oppose the Ambler Road:

• It is cutting through millions of acres and 211 miles of untouched wilderness, that has not been mined or polluted before. These forests and waterways are an important part of the planet’s fight against climate change.

So, bad news.

Her son has just died tragically.

Just reusing this post bc I dont think she ever fully financially recovered from that incident, infact she then got sick+fell behind & since then its been one thing after another. And now her 14 year old son is gone. She can't keep working right now.

The thing about her that pisses me off the most [I mean, aside from the ongoing effects of her "work"] is that she's constantly harassing Indigenous scholars and experts. On here, in public fora, in print, you name it. It's evil.

OMFG. Grotesque, despicable, unfathomably evil stuff. Reported both the account and individual posts.

It’s just so awful. I am so sorry.

Thank you, but I at least have the privilege of being able to ignore her on a day-to-day level.

The Indigenous academics and scholars she so gleefully harms are the folks I'm most concerned about [and, of course, her attempts at rewriting history and her constant desecrations].

• The ambler road will destroy pristine wilderness that is traditional caribou hunting and salmon fishing grounds for Inuit and indigenous people living in Alaska— a part of the world with very few grocery stores, whose rural population relies on hunting and foraging to eat and survive.
