I love my wheelchair #accessible backpack for my tech and more travel heavy use, and adore their little dog mascots. But did feeldom realise the uh… otherways that brand name coems thru aside from the “feel freedom” Portmanteau

So Kepa needs their tail to be protected. It being loose could get stuck in a door, caught on a component or catch on stuff. first idea had been to have the tail go under and then up, tucking against the back by sliding under belting. I think a cat could do this bit am unsure if an otter tail could

Due to this, if the tail is to sit naturally (esp on species where it tapersaa more off the bottom of the torso or is wide) the back shape would have to accommodate. This is the J3 back I use. What i was thinking was having the bottom tape upwards, allow the tail to ‘flow’ under and thru.

Next: deisgn and measurement: its all in the reach. As you can see the chair is a lot smaller than hospital chairs. Some notes: the angles, back rest and hand rims can vary a lot! Think about the needs of your character, they define the chair. I’d rec perusing some manufacturers for inspo

This is a diagram I saved from a manufacturer. Its also highlighting a concept called “seat dump” which is the seat angle but don’t worry about that rn. Seat dump defines how the user sits in the chair and helps keep you in place without muscle tensing.

For reference! My wheelchair model. Mine has more camber tho, so the bottoms of the wheels are further than the top point of them . Not all rigid frames camber; mine does because it lets me turn in place and man is that important for inaccessible hallways. It also helps w/ stability.

Baby baphomet (pattern courtesy of cutiepiesart) , i custom programmed the tail tip design in hatch, felt like they needed a little more bite than a pompom gave for the person it was destined for
