Facebook, X, YouTube and other social media platforms rely on a 1996 law to insulate themselves from legal liability for user posts. But what if the same law could be used to rein in the power of those social media giants? That idea is at the heart of a lawsuit filed in May against Meta.
How a Law That Shields Big Tech Is Now Being Used Against It
A Massachusetts professor has filed a lawsuit against Meta using a novel interpretation of Section 230, a law known primarily for shielding social media companies from liability.

I played around with claude.ai for a couple hours yesterday and was able to build a web app that let me speak to it on a mic and hear it's responses.

I'm not a coder. It wrote all the html/javascript and helped me configured the reverse proxy in Apache to make the API calls.

Shit's changing fast.

Once again reminding everyone that the quickest way to get around a paywalled article is to disable javascript in your browser and refresh the page. It doesn't work 100% of the time, but it will like 95% of the time.

I’ve said it before, but this is no longer the case:

Prefer clear code over clever code.

Don't mistake terse for concise.

Terse code is short, cryptic, clever, and is often error prone.

Concise code is clear, simple, and easy to understand and change.
