She had a perfect final day. I read to her in her favorite chair, she enjoyed puree'd chicken & broccoli as her last meal (her favorite), & with the help of a very kind vet, she passed gently on my pillow, purring to the very end.

Habitat upgrade for this dude! grabbed the last few butterfly-friendly flowers I could find for sale at the absolutely raided garden center.
He's not very interested in the flowers, or in flying, but at least his environment is more. Butterfly...ish.

(btw also this butterfly has 2/6 legs. me and Flan found him on a walk weeks ago, I can't believe he's still alive. I knew I couldn't do anything about the legs, so I had to at least get him airborne again.)

I played it with @jusdberube.bsky.social as soon as we got home. he was Olaf (and he was appropriately cunning and nasty) and I was the Baudelaires. I won, but by like. barely a hair. it was pretty fun and funny!

Months ago, when Bug first started getting sick, I started a new sketchbook dedicated to quick live studies of her as part of my morning routine. I thought I'd only get a few pages in before she passed, but it's been months now, and on the 22nd we officially filled it. Today I had her sign it.
