Bad news today, Tommy Hunt passed away on 12th Feb 25 aged 91. He joined the Flamingos then went solo in '61, appearing at Wigan Casino in '75. Tommy went on the cabaret circuit in the 80s. Tommy's last request Sammy Davis Jr - I gotta be me.

Bad news today, Tommy Hunt passed away on 12th Feb 25 aged 91. He joined the Flamingos then went solo in '61, appearing at Wigan Casino in '75. Tommy went on the cabaret circuit in the 80s. Tommy's last request Sammy Davis Jr - I gotta be me.

2/2 In 2014 a bag retailer tried to copyright the logo, however the Northern Soul community fought and overturned the application with the IPO refusing the trademark, determining the logo as generic. Badges are used to indicate where you've been a bit like a passport but adorning clothing and bags

1/2 The clenched fist logo associated with the Northern Soul scene may have been influenced by black athletes in the Mexico Olympics but it was Chris Burton of the Torch Club who commissioned an illustrator to design the logo which he used to promote the club and the scene.

I have no idea who Carl is, my records have inner sleeves, card sleeves and plastic outers. I think leaving stickers on is okay but many collectors go to extreme lengths to remove these from the label to increase the value of the record.

Shoes were important, for the lads there were three types of shoes that were popular. Clarkes' Polyveldt, Solatio Leather Shoes and Spoons/Spooners. I have a pair of black Solatio the best shoes I've ever owned.

Northern Soul fashion was different, you definitely stood out with 40 inch baggie pants, Tank Tops, leather coats and shoes you could dance in. The wide trousers gave you the freedom to dance, the girls would either have trousers or long skirts. Pleats, pockets and buttons were important
