It looks yummy!!

Glen passed this afternoon with Marni & some close friends at his bedside.

We went from "day to day" to hour to hour this afternoon and after a CT scan showing that his bowel was starting to become compromised, we made the difficult decision to let him go peacefully.

I am very confident he received the best of care, but despite what they tried (being back on a full bypass, dialysis, being on a ventilator) his stats did not improve and were deteriorating.

Unfortunately, things did not improve and they re-opened his chest to take some of the pressure off of his heart.

His recovery was problematic from the start with his lactose levels being through the roof and his liver function was not good either. They made the decision to start dialysis to take some of the burden off of his kidneys.

When they "got in there" and did the quadruple bypass and replaced the aortic valve, they discovered that his mitral valve was leaking quite badly, so a 6-hour operation became an 11 hour one.

I know you're off FB so you likely are not aware that Glen had cardiac surgery last Wednesday to repair blockages in his cardiac arteries and an aortic valve replacement. His surgery did not go as planned.
