Paul Simon has a lot of very well-respected solo material, no? Graceland, You Can Call Me Al, etc etc? Seems a calibre above Noel Gallagher:s High Flying Birds

that's only the tory party rules I believe. In practice labour very rarely rebels against a PM (have they ever?)

There's an obvious cruelty and disgust not deep beneath the surface in how she talks about lots of characters. And I ultimately agree that the treatment of e.g. house elves is evidence of some really bad instincts that now seem to define her whole personality

I do believe there's some degree of retrospective HP derangement about this. The villains of the series are fascists, bullies and crude racists - that's part of the sell. I don't think people can reasonably say they could predict Rowling's descent into madness on the basis of the HP books.

Nope, most mortgages have a term of fixed interest - 2-5 years - and then become variable interest after that. People normally remortgage at that point to get the best fixed rate they can

A contrarian turn? At this point in the political cycle, under this government, localised entirely within your Fabian magazine?

Cleverly's biggest political weakness might be his off-the-cuff comments/jokes. That guff all seemed to work quite well for Boris though.

Most relevant to middle class people that much of the media aim their coverage at?

All unified by a lack of respect for epistemological authority, whether political, legal or hirsute
