The Labor Mountain Fire and Sugarloaf Fire near Leavenworth in Washington State have both grown significantly this past week. WSDOT has closed Blewett pass because the fire has cross US-97 and evacuation areas have been established in Chelan County. More information at nwpmaps.com/fires

There are five active wildfires in Washington as of 7/23/25: Hope near Kettle Falls, Pomas East of Lake Chelan, Bear Gulch on the Olympic Peninsula, Burdoin on the Columbia River and Lake Spokane. Crews are also responding to new fires in the Methow Ranger District. More details at nwpmaps.com/fires

WA Fire update: The Pomas Fire closure Glacier Peak Wilderness/Okanogan-Wenatchee NF (OWNF) was expanded on 6/25 to include six campgrounds and additional trails. Campfire restrictions are in place for OWNF and Mt Rainier NP. WDFW fire restrictions go into effect 7/1. More at nwpmaps.com/fire

Changes at Mt Rainier National Park in 2025: timed entry permits are required for Sunrise but not Paradise; the Carbon and Mowich entrances and Ohanapecosh campground/visitor center will be closed; and expect delays on SR183 because of road work. Details at nwpmaps.com/blog/rainier2025.
