During the meeting, Jennifer Taylor, President & CEO, highlighted NVTC’s impact and accomplishments from the first half of FY26 and shared a look ahead to an exciting next six months—including a visit with an NVTC delegation to CES 2026 in Las Vegas.

The dialogue also touched on healthcare policy, Venezuela, tax credits, and emerging bipartisan opportunities in crypto regulation.

💼Talent: The conversation reinforced that human capital remains our greatest asset, with international students and global partnerships—especially with countries like India—playing a vital role.

🌎 Foreign Policy: Sen. Kaine shared his “America first, not America alone” philosophy, underscoring the importance of strong alliances and cautioning against broad tariffs on allies.

🛡️ Defense & Innovation: Both Senators highlighted significant innovation across the defense sector, including AI, quantum computing, and other emerging technologies critical to national security.

📊 AI & Economic Impact: Sen. Warner emphasized a strong focus on AI in the year ahead, including the need to prepare for short-term workforce disruption even as new jobs emerge over the next 3–7 years.

Against a backdrop of unprecedented change in 2025, the Senators shared candid insights on the issues shaping Virginia’s innovation economy and national competitiveness.
