Playing with an MCA SP1 mic. Doing some of the “Jim Williams” mods. Just about everything except swapping the capsule. Takes a cheap small diaphragm condenser and makes it more hi-fi. Polystyrene capsule capacitor and Wimas for the rest plus a few new critical resistors really clean up the sound

On the bench today- a vintage Hughes and Kettner Rotosphere. While I was in there I replaced the terrible brittle ribbon cable with discrete wiring. Much more accessible for repairs and the colors look cool too.
