Woodsy Woman 🆘

Hi Friends! Welcome to my page where you can follow along on my adventures at the wee Butternut Hut 🌼🐴 🛖 I am a professional flower gardener and part time horse trainer 🤓
Life is bonkers right now, so it is such a luxury to be able to escape to the woods, watch the sunset and fire up the woodstove to heat up the cabin. Tonight’s dinner is salted in shell peanuts and a whiskey sour. Retiring in the woods can’t come soon enough.

I fixed my misspelled sign and went to the NO KINGS Rally in Spooner, Wisconsin. A deep red village of 2400. Somehow we managed to get around 450 people to show up! The first NK in Spooner had 15!

This wee friend didn’t care one tick that I was dead heading my customers garden right next to her (him?)
There were three busy hummers feasting on the zinnias, but they particularly loved these black and blue tall salvias.

The other night I was watching a dreamy sunset when I could hear the sandhill cranes in the distance. Suddenly they rose above the tree line and I watched a group flying overhead. Getting ready to pull up stakes and head south. Every year we see more and more in Western Wi. 😌 Fun birds

It’s as if this orchid is thinking me for rescuing it from a trash bin

Tonight was a spectacular site. A storm coming in before sunset and the chatter of the sandhill cranes in the distance. They are starting to group up and prepare for the start of their migration.

The morning activities at wee lil Butternut Lake. Mr Beaver heading off to work on the dam, and Mr and Mrs Swan taking a little, peaceful stroll together

These sweet purple Gomphrena have been such a hit in our customers gardens this year. They are a type of amaranth. We have them paired with a vinca in this garden.

Last night I had this fun visitor before sunset

Nothing is more peaceful than this view. I am so grateful to have this tiny cabin in the woods to recharge my batteries

This is so fucked up. This is heinous and disgusting. It’s crimes against humanity. Pro-Israel or Palestine, I don’t give a flying fuck. This is leading poor, starving, desperate people to slaughter. What the hell is it gonna take to make this STOP!

Listening to my favorite public radio station WOJB 88.9 while they live broadcast the POW WOW at the LCO Nation. Nothing like drum circles and singing to feed your soul

I’m escaping to the Butternut Hut this weekend to plant all these random leftover plants, and the gardenia tree (in the front passenger seat). I need a break from EVERYTHING

What a truly sad day for our state and for America
Mark and Melissa lie peacefully at the center of our state and our hearts today. Their memorial, guarded by service dogs and men and women in uniform, casts a momentary shadow over L'Étoile du Nord as we honor their life’s work to make Minnesota shine brighter for all.
