After months of following @threewishes.bsky.social I was finally able to provide my end of life patient’s family with a little jar and a heart rhythm strip. I’m thankful for having seen this idea as it really made my patients family day.

My dad called upset that he has to go back to work in office. He teleworks a lot to help take care of my mother with ALS. All I could say is you voted for this. I love you but you made your bed.

Floating the inpatient nurse to the ed is quickest way to make the inpatient nurse quit. I don’t have access to anything down there at all.

So today has been…shit. Discharge all five patients. Get three back one of whom goes straight to icu for dka. Still 4.5 hours to go.

Realized earlier this week after a particularly difficult and messy code that I never should have stopped earning scrub caps. Bringing them back soon as I find some good ones on Etsy.

As a float nurse whose shifts can be at one of eight hospitals, I don’t always get to see the good outcomes after a shift where I’ve advocated strongly for the patient. Today I saw the wife of a patient I had advocated for last week. It is nice to know they got their diagnosis and were doing well.

I asked my weight loss provider to switch me back to neltrexone from zonasemide and instead he recommends increasing the dose. Frustrated. I just want my craving and appetite control back that I had with Wellbutrin and neltrexone.
