Nurses are the unsung heroes of public health.

The leaked FY 2026 HHS budget could eliminate the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) and most Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs, which support nursing research, education, and training.

Haven’t posted in a bit, curious to the #booksky group, how many books do you read at once? Are you strictly 1 at a time or can you mix up an audio and a book? Do you count books you read for read in your “count”? Currently I have 4 going. 2 work related, 1 audio, 1 leisure.

Stayed up late reading, woke up & moved to couch, napped with dogs and electric blanket. Now book back in one hand, coffee in the other! #booksky

If I recall, we already bailed out the auto industry in 2008, now with these tariffs, not only will cost be passed onto consumers, but reduced sales will mean we are likely going to see these debates again?

My Lyft driver was impatient at a light so took a different way. That decision cost 4 min. And now he’s speeding through neighborhoods.
As much as I hate maps, they have the traffic algorithm down.

We’d rather have research funding for mRNA vaccines that can combat pancreatic cancer and pandemic influenza, k thanks. Keep your conspiracies out of public health.

Maybe Empire should have become a Music Town so the “big” business would eventually fail and not the local indie store? #damntheman

Read a post about switching to @thestorygraph.com , especially if you want to support local/independent entrepreneurs more. I am pretty old school with my book tracking, a Notes list. So decided to check in out. I will 100% support this app. Here is why:

Guess you don’t need to worry about the price of eggs, when you can’t even find them. 🤷🏼‍♀️ But hey let’s not be part of WHO and control what the CDC provides for communication. That helps America.

I am an intermittent govt. employee. My work starts when disasters happen. I fear our program is on the chopping block. Americans won’t know it, but then cry out “why didn’t we have this” when it’s needed most.

Rainy days are for sitting in your favorite spot with a coffee, dog and a book. Especially when it’s the end of a book.

Seems like a good time to support your library…em I know the authors need support to, but for those in which prices prohibit the adventure reading-use your library!
Something people may not realize: a lot of the paper used to print books in the US are from China. In fact, a lot of the books are PRINTED in China, esp the ones from big publishers.

Expect the price of paper books to really hike soon. If you want paper copies of your favorite books, get them now.
