He’s a gentle bull, but still a bull. Like a Toyota Prius but with a brain.

Added a bull to my herd.
This is Bruno..
We can talk about Bruno….

Toadally awesome to find this one hanging around the hayfield this afternoon. Actually it’s not a toad, it’s a tree frog.
I was planning on telling a frog joke but you have to be very careful when you tell them, the last person I told one to.. croaked.

October… Sweater Weather!
Sometimes even the goats get chilly.

Well owl be damned!

The fencing project inspector showed up again today.

It gave me a long hard look straight in the eyes, and I’m pretty certain as it flew away it said… owl be back!

Working on my cattle fencing project and the inspector showed up.

I don’t think he gave a hoot ;)

Seed drill 🤠
It makes the most beautiful geometric pattern in the field.
Soil is amazing and needs to be protected, cared for, its alive!
Planted some hay, fodder for the future. Cost a bunch of coin in seed, fuel and equipment.
A farmer’s wish it will all take and maybe some rain would help.

What love of looks like.
Set it free, celebrate all things, doesn’t matter how small.
The micro moment, matter.
With the gas station attendant, your neighbour, your family keep love at root of all things and you too will be free.

Hay season’25 is done!
I’m 25 lbs lighter and a few more gray hairs
My 1970/80’s equipment kept up with the job for the most part, with less breakdowns then the last
All in all success, the farm critters will eat some good stuff this winter
Farm life gotta love it!
Thank a farmer if you ate today

Don’t be afraid little bunny you’re safe here
I set up a camping spot w/ solar lights for some friends to camp out.
The bunnies moved in after they left
Be the light the world needs
Life will surround you
It’s actually wonderful, embrace it, live it, it’s not as scary as it seems.

Got the countertop and sink installed, progress is slow but hopefully completed in time for cooking down tomato sauce.

Working on hay everyday lately it’s crept into my dreams.
Here is my version of Van Gogh’ starry night

Switched to round bales until the baler broke. Now back to squares
Let me tell ya rounds are so much easier. You get approx 14 small squares per round bale and the tractor does all the lifting vs. Hand bombing squares on/off the trailer and stacking into the mow. I work by myself so efficiency is key
June 27, 2025 at 9:41 AM
Was able to get 300 small squares off the field, just need to put them up into the hay mow before the next rain.
Still have 36 acres to go or call it 3000 more bales then we should have enough to feed the critters.
June 16, 2025 at 12:42 AM
It’s go time.. 1984 baler typically kicks the crap out of me. Think I got it dialled in for this season. Pushing the limits of my tractor. We can do it!?..

One of the main events..
Hay season ‘25 has arrived.
It’s a high stakes operation as it feeds all the cows, horses and goats on our farm for another 365

So many variables like weather, equipment & crop failures, rental/land owner agreements, time, money and all the things..

Gotta love farming!
June 14, 2025 at 2:35 AM
Wow!
All 3 calves are bulls!

That’s a pretty nice start into the beef/milk food sustainability, feed our family, friends and neighbours scenario

And now the moment we’ve all been waiting for it’s time for the real deal cattle call,, say hello to…

Pepper, HayHay and the newest member Spark!

My farrier told me my horseshoe was hung upside down, and if I were to leave it that way my luck would run out

So I took it down and hung it the other way 2 days later I find a four leaf clover.

Also my farrier just might be a wizard

Best of luck 🍀
