They didn't forget. They just can't see past his skin color to assess his worth - precisely the reason that most of us here believe we needed DEI programs in the first place. Helped stop white men from putting mediocre white men ahead of every well qualified woman and person of color on the list.

GH is mirroring the attitudes of conservative white Americans, who actively work against their best interests b/c they're threatened by Black equality. In GH's case they'd rather risk cancelation than to let a young Black heroine lead her own stories and meaningfully engage w/others on canvas.

It's b/c Trina’s Black & #GH is Anti-Black. Trina doesn't fit their racist view of a leading young heroine. She was half of an epic supercouple that drew in many newer, younger and relapsed viewers. I was on 10 year hiatus myself. They see how ratings have fallen since they began sidelining her.
