Longtermism's "Long Reflection" will just be giving everyone on the planet centuries of time to argue online full time and it will be really funny. That's why I support this.

Isn't it interesting how you can say the entire world is going to hell to a ridiculous extent and no one will criticize you, but when you say something uplifting, people will dogpile you about how it's not going to happen? I find it much more energizing to be uplifted.

It would be cool if we started and promoted a culture of respectful discussion of real-world issues, to counteract the political fighting on other websites.
