Software rendering was the peak of visual expression. When you had to earn it both creatively and technically around limitations. Everyone now trying to recreate the magic as “retro”.

If Street Fighter was a Bruce Lee movie, Mortal Kombat was a gory Hong Kong schlock movie like Riki Oh. It was never about being polished, it was laughing with your friends as he pulled you spine out.

That and there need to be more layers in the social net to mitigate issues before it involves police… earlier in timeline. Cops being at the tail end of the chain when all else fails.
Mental health, drug use, abuse, etc. A lot (not all :/ ) can be stemmed earlier on.

Extremely tense. From within the squad in addition to being hunted by locals. And the cast is stellar too.

I do get a kick out of the fact that the floppy is basically now Egyptian hieroglyphics for save now. Generations of young people have been clicking that icon never having seen or touched one in real life.
