Working on AI exploration in the office of the CTO at Microsoft. Goofing about here looking for the gnarl. Robotdad in most other places.
How much of it sounds like Throbbing Gristle though?

I find YouTube premium is the best offering, no ads on YouTube while creators get revenue and YouTube music. Sure it is Google but you can’t escape them and creators get paid rather than hacking sound intrusive ads on the platform.

Good post, food for thought. On our team we regularly don’t look at code anymore. There are reasons for choosing the language which you articulate well in that the model understands it well. Rust is becoming interesting not for what that community thinks it is about, but for xplat.

30 under 30 is a rather infamous list… SBF, Shkreli, Caroline Ellison, James O’Keefe, Do Kwon… some bad company. Some more that are questionable, a lot that are fine, but frankly not something to promote anymore. Forbes generally as well, not what it was.

If only the newspaper, magazine, and book people would look at their own industry and consider how much water it uses… 🤔
December 2, 2025 at 5:31 AM
I don’t think the wapo publishes an environmental impact report the way many tech companies do so we have to guess. Using some really rough estimates the wapo may use about 80% as much water per day as all ai data centers based on water use for paper production.

Using sketchy estimates it seems like the global book industry uses over 200x water than all ai data centers. The estimates are sketchy because the book industry does not provide data on their water or energy usage.

So a single copy of Empire of AI used about 1,000 liters of water.

The dems started Vietnam under jfk and lbj, Nixon committed treason to keep it going and was not held to account. He also made the was worse. But a lot of republican malfeasance today can be traced to him getting away with what he did while running for office.

The cited example is not on bsky or from a bsky account? 🤷

My phone already uninstalled Sora automatically, the novelty wore off fast.

I remember looking closely at some mining company investments a few years ago, the lack of fundamental value stopped me. I remember though they had stupid generous electric deals that also stopped me as they were frankly unconscionable. So yeah, I can see this pivot on power alone.

The characters fit so why not? 🤷

And both of those things I miss and value I will hear about without being on a platform I can see rotting peoples brains. It is tuned to shape peoples beliefs in ways that make the world a worse place.. you can see it working on them.
November 27, 2025 at 11:06 PM
That actually made me wonder what you were doing… 😂 More seriously this thread is why I prefer this platform over x. This is good discourse you won’t find in the self promoting low quality noise over there. So what I miss is product announcements and industry luminaries thoughts
November 27, 2025 at 11:01 PM
I actually find a lot of good discourse about ai here. In a lot of ways better than x that I rarely look at it anymore. X is swarmed by low effort look at me ai content by shills that drowns signal more than the anti crowd here.
