Im so excited to have received two beautiful books today! I know you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but if I were to 👀🫦

the jackets are so soft but feel durable. The letters are embossed and catch the light, a complement to the adorning artwork. but it doesnt stop there.

Dreaming of cooler days and the trails that feel like family
Superstition Mountain pictured from their south side during the red light minutes of sunset just after a superbloom. The green foliage has lost its flowers. The clouds were the weirdest ive seen. 4-5 overlapping half circles that were spinning. I soent probably 30 minutes in this spot The base of Silly Mountain (a really mean hill for AZ) in Apache Junction AZ. Storms were heading southwest from the northeast (unusual for the area) and the sky to the south was a beautiful blue with fluffy clouds. I adored the juxtaposition of each side of the sky that day!

If you are showing up at their place of employment, then it was never about them not working. If you are showing up at courthouses, then it was never about getting them to "do it the right way". If you are kidnapping women and children, then it was never about criminals. If you're refusing to give them due process, then it was never about the Constitution. crazy-pages Yes, It Is Just Like The Nazis Hey so remember Anne Frank? The Jewish young girl who hid in an attic and was killed by the Nazis? The emblematic person we think of when we think of victims of the Holocaust? She did not die in a gas chamber or in a death camp. She died in a 'temporary' detention center for the mass deportations which preceded the death camps. She was in that camp because a patriotic neighbor ratted her out to the German deportation force. She died, not of a bullet to the back of the head or choking on gas, but of typhus. She contracted typhus because the Nazis couldn't realistically deport people at the rate they wanted to, because before the death camps their infrastructure couldn't handle the sudden influx of ethnic minorities they had decided to imprison, and because they didn't care about the consequences of that so their deportation detention centers were unhygienic and prisoners were underfed and overcrowded. And she was picked up by the deportation force not because she was an illegal citizen but because, just like the US is doing with asylum seekers, she was part of a formerly recognized class of citizens who were legally redefined to lack citizenship by a new administration. Anne Frank is exactly like the children who have already died in the United State's detention camps. Exactly. Down to the very last detail. There. Is. Not. A. Single. Difference. So unless you want to fucking tell me that Anne goddamn Frank was not a victim of the Holocaust, y'all can shut the fuck up with that "stop making concentration camp comparisons, you're diminishing the suffering of the Holocaust" bullshit. fandomsandfeminism Its also worth noting that her family TRIED to flee to the US and was denied. She was in that camp partly because the US refused to let her refugee family immigrate.

In Hitler's American Model: The United States and the Making of Nazi Race Law, legal scholar James Whitman makes an important interven- tion in the history of Fascism by arguing that "Nazis found examples and precedents in American legal race order that they valued highly."13 This argument is an essential one that our book builds upon. The Black Antifascist Tradition identifies the epicenter of modern racial Fascism as being in the United States, not Europe. Throughout the book, we trace how Anti-Black Fascism is enshrined within American law and related political forms and ideologies, and how, unlike with European Fascism, there is no need for a singular Fascist regime or dictator to ensure its existence. American Anti-Black Fascism's strength lies within the law itself, which commands law enforcement, legislators, and everyday cit- izens across the political spectrum to uphold and maintain anti-Black systems from generation to generation. In this respect, we include in our definition of anti-Blackness the ancestral line of racializations, racisms, transferred and modes of racial oppression visited upon and sometimes to non-white US subjects.
