I think I've seen that with failing or overclocked hardware.

Now you can get the vibe of my Teleris char having been a weird combination of Feanor and Eöl but more of a functional person. Also why he might have been cursed to wander.

I've always liked the ability to look into a photograph and just fall in and that there was this very complicated but manageable machine I could manipulate to do it. Does mean I'm a little more results oriented, but the results require reality that I can notice later not fake details.

Also better batch consistency. But if there's the slightest chance of something communicable like a prion they'd be dead to rights if they couldn't track sourcing.

I'm partial to the inconsistent direction of gravity.

That sounds like a bad description of Mistborn.

My dude. I know a Speed Graphic is called a 'field camera' but this is maybe taking it too far?

Yeah, it's so slab sided because it was introduced in Wing Commander 3 which was early, early 3d (like before Windows 95 so acceleration wasn't possible).

If you were a merc taking jobs shooting sprites that was Privateer, if you were part of a military against weird aliens, Prophecy.

That's either an Excalibur from Wing Commander or something from Freespace. Either way it's from a space flight sim.

I used to have pictures of price tags for empty pegs I needed to check stock on.

The minute the logic gates showed up it was like, "Oh. Oh no!" I mean it makes sense that you can turn almost any interpreted language into logic, but getting basically a turing machine going there is impressive.

I'm assuming if you wanted to do actual arithmetic you could use masks, not gates?

I'm vaguely hoping if the bubble pops we get consumer GPUs with HBM again as a side effect.

yeeeeeeees

So it's just a 217/217 flying, trample with vigilance, that can't really be killed. That's totally fair.

This feels like combining the Multi-Unite cards from Ascension's RU set with any other set with multi-faction cards. I think I once drew my entire deck 3 times (on extra turns) in succession against the computer.

It passed by popular vote, and wasn't actually conditional, so jack.

Wait... they think anomalocaris was a stem starfish?!??

It's weird watching the first Predator as an adult treating it as an intentional work rather than just "cool action movie". Like wow! this thing has themes and parallels. Seeing the mercs mirror the Predator and have it flip the F out when it starts getting hunted.

I remember in high school I was building a Quake bot and I wanted to give it a table of people who killed it so it could hold grudges and act irrationally.
I don't think I was ever going to get that out of QuakeC but I still like the idea.

I'm just thinking: color profiles, like to convert colors to a calibrated and measured monitor, work by converting one set of color primaries to another with some look up tables or matrix math. The dumbest way to handle "what color is grey x" is probably not to, just toss it over the wall to the gpu
November 11, 2025 at 8:57 PM
So it bypasses the color management system if it's not RGB?

Just lining up number on Wikipedia: Banjo Kazooie sold 3 million copies total. Diablo II did 2 million in the first month and a half, and that's a PC game! People respect it but I don't see people obsessing the way they do about platformers.
