This is the first device of its type that can take both kinds of batteries, so it took some time to engineer with the limited resources at hand.

The target sale date for the Torch 2 is the first half of January, 2026.

Batteries are removable (in case the airlines crack down, you can just run it off USB in flight and buy batteries when you land) and replaceable.

It ships with LiFePO4 batteries due to the cobalt mining situation in Congo but if you flip the selector switch shown can take Li-ion.

Shown is how the bulb is easily changed. It lasts about 3000-4000 hours, and a spare is included. Torch 2 replaceable bulbs should be around $40 to $75 depending on mass production, which is just 1 or 2 cents an hour and probably less for power.

Yes, they should be significantly more effective based on the CFD models we have so far. Replaceable bulbs, batteries, can run off USB-PD, no time limit, better coverage, tripod mount on the bottom.

It should have taken a lot less time TBH😅

Yeah, glass, non-toxic gas, a bit of metal, and a tiny bit of plastic I can probably make out of something biodegradable later...

This is Far-UVC. It's well tested on humans, but always good to jump at the opportunity to see if you can get it to do anything to other biology.
