The first nudist groups weren’t remote communes or the “colonies” of popular myth. Most sat just outside major cities and filled up on weekends with teachers, clerks, urban workers and families. These places offered sun, fresh air, and a break from the expectations that came with modern dress. 3/

At the turn of the century, German reformers saw cities grow denser, factory work expand, and ready-made clothing spread. Heavy garments, stiff collars, soot, and long indoor hours shaped how people felt. Early nudist advocates treated this as a health problem and looked outdoors for relief. 2/

Nudism, to me, represents and symbolizes personal liberty. I love naturism, and that’s mostly what I’m here to talk about, but first and foremost I believe in and promote personal liberty. As such, kings, tyrants, dictators and autocrats, secret police, etc. can piss up a rope and die. #nokings #usa
