🗓 32-year-old male with prior successfully treated chronic osteomyelitis and septic loosening of the femoral stem (see chronic osteomyelitis post) with debridement and revision surgery, presented with right hip and groin pain for the past 3 months and unremarkable radiographs

It forms at the junction of left subclavian and internal jugular veins, courses inferiorly on the left side of the aortic arch and anterior to the left hilum, draining either into the coronary sinus (90%) or directly into the left atrium (10%).

Left-sided superior vena cava is the most common venous congenital anomaly in the chest. The reported incidence is 0.5% in normal population and in 5% in individuals with congenital head diseases.
