I am enjoying the fact that my father is growing increasingly annoyed by the fact that I keep calling this chili. It's got beans, tomatoes, and chili powder in it, it's chili. (It also has curry powder and a bunch of other things, because I'm weird and no one else is eating it)
A pot of what I will continue calling chili. There is chopped up sweet potato, kidney beans, black beans, corn, and onions in it.

I want to share a personal victory - I cooked! Sort of a weird hybrid of a @geekyjules.julessherred.com refried beans recipe and my childhood comfort crockpot pinto beans. I didn't do any of the mashing or refrying, just ate them over cornbread. A+ childhood food.

Have a pair of silly girls. Diora has now experimentally confirmed that she does not fit in the paper towel roll.

She is quite a bit larger than the outer diameter of the roll and definitely isn't going to fit inside the small inside of the tube in the center, no matter how hard she tries. It's a thinner rainbow than I intended, I must have used more than 3 passes for each color last time.
A bit of inkle weaving for rainbow trim. It's a pair of short popsicle sticks to start the weave with a solid block at the edge of the first roller, with maybe an inch or two of weaving done.

I'm still working on getting the tortie to cooperate (in shocking news, a tortie is contrary 😹), but I've got one for you! This is Finch, she chirps and goes exploring up high after the human goes to sleep.

Finch wore the same one when she was spayed!! The first one I tried wasn't sturdy enough and she wiggled right out of it.

Finch had to put up with houseguests this weekend! But they are gone now and she's reclaiming her space and choosing to ignore her spine.
