From my limited experience..
1. Activity is severely lacking in comparison to Twitter.
2. I see very little conversations of substance outside exchanging of pleasantries.
3. Less bots and no ads.
4. Site still lacks that certain something to have me log in regularly.

100%, from my understanding they're 'aware' of the issue so fingers crossed more gets done because you're right, it's been going on for far too long.
