About 70-80 people have gathered at the regular meeting of council here in Saint Andrews for a decision on the tender for Market Wharf and Square project. This project has been a point of contention for many in this community, but a project supported by others.

After 13 days, the Old Field Fire in Miramichi is contained, according to GNB. It burned 1,402 hectares approximately.

Seven fires remain out of control in New Brunswick.

Two fires are considered out-of-control in New Brunswick.

One outside Miramichi is continuing to burn and did jump Highway 8 - some homes have been evacauted and others are on notice.

A significant fire has also ignited and is spreading quickly in Irishtown, near Moncton.

The Miramichi region is my home.

A wildfire that was detected three days ago has spread to nearly 65 hectares.

Forestry activities have been restricted by the province as the conditions continue to remain dry.

The fire has grown to the 35 hectares.
A forest fire is currently considered out-of-control about 11km outside Douglastown in Miramichi.

Five hectares have burned and the Department of Natural Resources said the fire is currently being knocked down.

"There are no homes threatened and we do not anticipate containment problems."
