The trashing of government institutions by DOGE/the Trump admin reminds me of this excellent 2017 book by Bonnie Honig, on how 'public things' stabilise our worlds, are undone by anti-democratic forces, yet remain an enduring focus of democratic action even in a context of extreme loss.
